Dr. Daniel Rodríguez-Martín is the current CTO of Sense4care. He studied in UPC, where he received two B.Sc., one in Industrial Electronics (2007) and other in Industrial Automation (2009) both with honours in the final project. He also received the M.Sc. in Automation and Robotics (2011) and he finally obtained the Ph.D. in Automatic Control, Vision and Robotics (2014) with honours.
He achieved a competitive pre-doc grant and a post-doc grant where he succeeded in designing the best algorithm to detect Freezing of Gait, enhancing falling algorithms and collaborating in the design of new Parkinson’s Disease algorithms, among others. During his stage in research, he also supervised several master theses and managed the hardware team in the laboratory of the centre.
With base in Electronics and Computer Science, he participated in the hardware design in all the boards developed in the research centre from which Sense4care is spin off (CETpD) since 2009, achieving a great experience in Medical Devices. In the design of algorithms, he is author of more than 40 research articles, and he has participated in several national (MoMoPa – 1, MoMoPa – 2, MoMopa3, MoMopa EC, and MASPARK) and international projects (HELP, FATE, and REMPARK) participating in the managing and development of several work packages.
